Dr. Paul Barry was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. After completing an internship at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, he entered private practice for five years. He then joined the US Navy, retiring after nearly 27 years. During that time he developed and implemented preventive medicine/occupation health policies and practices for the Navy and Marine Corps and also served as the Commanding Officer of the USNS MERCY hospital ship during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked at the Fulton County Health Department in Atlanta and as the medical director for a ten-clinic federally qualified health care system in Northeast Georgia. As a board-certified occupational medicine specialist, he began working as the Interim Director of the Office of Prospective Health in January 2012 and Director in June 2013.
