Dr. Qiao Wang joined the Department of Public Health at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University (ECU) as an assistant professor of Biostatistics in 2025. Prior to joining ECU, she was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University.

She is a researcher, biostatistician and educator whose work leverages statistical expertise to address complex real-world problems, serve communities, and train the next generation of public health leaders. Her methodological framework centers around Bayesian modeling, comparative effectiveness research, and generalizability of clinical findings across populations using heterogenous data sources. Her applied work involves multiple domains, including but not limited to mental health, cardiovascular disease, cancer surveillance, and environmental health. She is passionate about developing evidence-based and actionable solutions through robust, innovative, and trustworthy analytical approaches that advance both individual and population health.
